A Southern California native, Jeff entered the advertising business in the mid-eighties after becoming part owner in a direct mail advertising coupon booklet company. After 10 years, Jeff sold the company and started his own marketing business representing a handful of companies. Jeff's new business entailed coordinating advertising campaigns, designing brochures, flyers and ads as well as developing business images, ad campaigns and operating a flyer distribution business.

In 1998, Jeff moved the family to Merced with the hope of buying a home. In Merced Jeff began working with a local direct mail company called The Merced County Shopper. In 2002, Jeff began working with Radio Merced.
